I was very excited to finally get these. Unfortunately I bought these and installed them, then shortly after they came out with the pros. i really wanted the warm white look on my house when its not a holiday. You dont get that with this version and anything close to warm white has a pink-ish tone to it. Otherwise gather installation wasnt too bad. I took time to plan it out and measure.

Pros:
-A lot of options for themes on the app and then in the user shared section
-Pretty easy installation (i used the included brackets and also purchased other ones and used quite a bit more especially on hard to reach areas). I did have a couple lights come off the soffit due to the tape not totally sticking. Not a big deal but annoying none the less.
-works with Alexa

Cons
- these lights were great for about the first 3 months, mainly because there werent any holidays other than Halloween when I first used them so I didnt mess around with the features too much.
Fast forward to Xmas time currently and i love the different patters they do. My main issue has been when using the diy feature with downloaded presets others have made. I like that i can have the lights change ever 5 mins in the auto play feature but i have found that using this feature causes a lot of issues. Lately my lights wont turn off at the scheduled off time. I havent had an issue until using the auto play. I have tried a lot including running an Alexa routine to no avail. Customer support isnt that great as they told me to reset the lights and that did not solve the issue.
I am prettty sure it is due to auto play because when i turn it off they seem to work as programmed.

Otherwise i do enjoy the lights and i get a lot of compliments.

These lights (and in fact all the lights) are awesome, as I have bought these, 2 curtain lights, a floor light and a light strip. They look awesome on the house.
But I had some issues! The first was the wifi would not connect and the 2nd one which was more insidious was that one of the strands wouldn't work and this occurred on the highest hung strand and even after testing the lights on the floor right after I got them. The wifi issue might have been caused by the faulty strand, but because we were troubleshooting it for a week, it delayed the fix. Customer support was great, though only available via the app. I wish it were available or sent a copy of messages to email. But their CS team was awesome and once they realized that there was an issue with the wifi, they sent me a new kit. While the new kit was in transit was when I realized one of the strands was not working (as I was trying to get it to work without wifi). This strand was at the highest point of the house and support told me to replace it with the newly arriving replacement kit. I was unhappy with this solution because of how high the strand was and I would need to spend over 3 hours to get it off and put on the new one. But once I replaced that strand, the wifi also started working.

The lights are great! The wire seems to be paintable. I will keep buying more govee light solutions. I was thinking of wrapping the entire house with these, but I think just the front will do. It takes a lot of effort to get these up and if you run into an issue, its not easy to fix. I am not sure how long it will work for, I was hoping at least 10+ years. But seeing them up on the roof, and the jumps and my issues, I don't know if that will happen.
If I did not run into any issues and it worked on my first try, I would have given it 5 stars. But because of customer support and how pretty it looks, giving it 4.

The Govee permanent outdoor lights are definitely the best product I've found. The company seems excellent and thoughtful with their design. And after trying six other smart-lights, Ive landed on Govee as my go-to brand:
But, my two takeaways would be this:
(1). The lights depend on double-sided adhesive stickers to work. And, even if your surface is perfect for such stickers (like metal), they will inevitably unstick. So, be sure use the additional clips.
(2). The lights were wisely designed with a wide-angle type lens to themwhich is clever. But, if you install them within 12 inches of your wall, it creates a gingerbread/bubble look across the top of your rooflinewhich is cute for Christmas. But, year-round, it looks terrible. So, consider buying plastic corner brackets (right angle braces) that enable you to mount the lights further away from the wall at a downward angle (see pic). The lights not only attached more securely, but, they created a significantly brighter wash effect over the entirety of my wall (see pic) causing the lights to be twice as bright and wash a much greater portion of the wall.

The look was so dramatically better that I wondered: Why doesnt Govee recommend this as standard? But, then I realized: (A). Its a more complex install as it requires screws and plastic brackets & (B). Not everyone has a 2 to 4 foot eave / soffit. Some houses have extremely tight over-hangs. Thus, they probably have to recommend a straight down and close to the wall install even though its not ideal.

Lastly, after a lengthy install, I discovered there was a strip of lights that didnt go on! I almost lost my marbles and turned into Clark Griswald. But, in the end, the lights were fine. It was a simple Bluetooth proximity issue (I needed to stand closer to the lights while connecting them to the app). But all is well. And when I added up how much I spent on replacing Christmas lights every year (and the time to put them up), these Govee lights are worth every penny! I definitely love my Govee lights.

I ordered the RGBIC Permanent Outdoor Lights (100ft, IP67 wire); I did not order the RGBICWW strip lights (32ft, IP65 wire). I have been unable to fully install the RGBIC lights, so this is an incomplete review. Due to my roof design, humidity, and gaps in the soffit, I have used all of the supplied clips (plus screws for added support) to attach the wire to the soffit. The clips closely match the color of the wire, soffit and perfectly fit the wire. I have been unable to obtain the additional clips from Govee over the last two weeks, numerous Emails, phone calls, and post on their website. Note, I provided my order number. The only response from Govee is an apology for not being able to help, and referral to amazon for products that are incompatible with my Govee system. So, two weeks, I have Govee light halfway across my house, unable to proceed, and Govee is unable or unwilling to help. I am waiting on a response from my last Email to Govee, two days ago. I don’t want any more apologies. Either send me clips or a label to return this back to Govee for a full refund. I am hopefully that Govee will make this right, but prepared if they do not.
